Where to watch the Fourth of July fireworks in NYC

The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show will draw New Yorkers’ eyes to the Brooklyn Bridge on Thursday, featuring 70,000 shells timed to a musical score.

The 25-minute fireworks event is set to launch off of the bridge starting at 9:20 p.m., but you’ll want to be in position well before.

And if you can’t catch them at the East River, there will be other fireworks celebrations across the city to catch as well, including at Coney Island and at Astoria Park.

To help you prepare, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best places to soak in the famous display so that you can effectively “ooh” and “ahh” the night away and capture those Instagram-worthy shots of the dazzling lights the way the Founding Fathers intended you to.

Here’s where to park yourself to catch a view of this year’s fireworks.
