Teen hospitalized after Crown Heights shooting: Cops

Cops are investigating a shooting that left an 18-year-old hospitalized in Crown Heights this morning.

Multiple shots were fired by an unknown perpetrator at around 10:52am at the intersection of St. Marks and Nostrand avenues, according to a New York City Police Department spokesperson.

The teenaged victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. 

Cops are investigating the incident, though no arrests had been made as of Thursday afternoon, and a motive had not been determined. The identity of the shooter is not known.

There have been 31 shooting incidents so far this year in the 77th Precinct, according to NYPD data, including two during the weeklong period of Oct. 31 – Nov. 6. Last week, a 26-year-old bystander was critically injured when a man opened fire just a block from the scene of today’s shooting. Shooting incidents are down in the precinct compared to this time last year, when there had been 41 such crimes.
