Despite the rumor mill suggesting that the New York Jets would be taking Tyler Warren, Darren Mougey’s first selection as a general manager is Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou, as they bolster their offensive front.

The Jets haven’t had a solidified offensive line since their back-to-back AFC Championship runs in 2010-2011. From left to right, they’ll trot out Olu Fashanu, John Simpson, Joe Tippmann, Alijah Vera-Tucker, and now Membou.

The Missouri product mauls in the passing game and is a true right tackle. He played every snap of his collegiate career at right tackle.

Rich Cimini of ESPN heard rumblings that New York was interested in Kelvin Banks Jr. out of Texas because of his ability to play left tackle – offering some versatility.

The Jets have landed their franchise left tackle. The new regime has a head coach and offensive coordinator who came from Detroit, which had one of the league’s best offensive lines.

This offense will look different in 2025. They’re likely to move to a rush-first offense, with Justin Fields under center and Tanner Engstrand calling the plays.

With Breece Hall and Braelon Allen in the backfield, they’ll need an elite offensive line to move the football.

This Jets team won’t be competing for a Super Bowl, but solidifying their offensive line is as good a starting point as a new regime could have. They may not land the quarterback of the future during this selection process, but they’ll be an intriguing destination for their next passer.
