The NYPD released footage of the goon who assaulted a woman with a hockey stick as she walked through the East Village earlier this week.

Police said the 26-year-old victim was with a friend in front of 433 East 6th St. at approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 9 when the suspect ambushed the pair, striking the victim in the leg with a hockey stick.

According to law enforcement sources, the victim and suspect did not know each other, and the incident was unprovoked.

The perpetrator then fled the scene on foot, heading eastbound on East 6 Street, police said.

Officers from the 9th Precinct responded to a 911 call about the assault, and EMS treated the victim at the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a male with a dark complexion and thin build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, light-colored hoodie, light-colored pants and multi-colored sneakers.

Anyone with any information regarding the assault is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish speakers, dial 888-57-PISTA).
