Ozzy, Sharon Osbourne ‘back on track,’ rocker says

Heavy-metal rock legend Ozzy Osbourne suggested Monday that he and his wife of 34 years, Sharon Osbourne, are working through the issues that precipitated what their representative in May confirmed was an informal separation.

“No, it’s just a bump in the road, is all it is,” Osbourne, 67, said on “Good Morning America,” where he was appearing with his son Jack, with whom he stars on the History show “Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour.” “Oh, it’s back on track again,” he assured “GMA” contributor Jesse Palmer.

“I mean, listen,” added Jack Osbourne, 30, “as a married person myself, marriage is not like, ‘Hey, we’re married, all is good.’ I mean, it’s just life.”

“And they both lived happily ever after,” Ozzy Osbourne mused. “I’d like to find the person who wrote that and poke him” — “and smack him!” Jack interjected — “in the eye with a burnt stick. Some days good, some days terrible, some days you just drift apart for a while,” he said of marriage. “But you get back on the horse, you know?”

In April, Sharon Osbourne, 63, conceded on her show “The Talk” that Ozzy, who had long maintained sobriety, had been abusing drugs and alcohol for a year-and-a-half prior. Monday after the “GMA” interview, Sharon Osbourne told her fellow panelists, “It’s been very hard. I shouldn’t speak for him. I know he wants to come on this show anyway and talk for himself to you all . . . He feels that he owes everybody here an apology, because he’s put us all through it. He’s very embarrassed and ashamed about his conduct . . . I can’t speak for him, but for me, yes, I forgive. It’s gonna take a long time to trust, but we’ve been together 36 years, 34 of marriage . . . I just can’t think of my life without him . . . ,” adding jocularly, “ . . . even though he’s a dirty dog. He’s gonna pay big!”
