Looks like the third time was the charm for the “Dosa Man.” After being a finalist every year since the inception of the Vendy Awards in 2005, Thiru Kumar finally received the silver trophy. Kumar’s vegan dosas are a popular fixture of Washington Square Park, and there are frequently lunchtime lines of 20 or more customers. His dosa cart is covered with clippings from various newspapers around the world, and Kumar must now face the difficult task of squeezing on a few more and finding a space for his trophy.
