Firefighters fought a stubborn two-alarm fire inside a well-known Queens pub just after 8:20 a.m. on Saturday.
Just over 100 firefighters responded to a blaze in Bayside that tore through the basement of Hatfields Bar at 40-05 Bell Blvd. The fire quickly spread to the first floor, with thick smoke billowing from the second-floor windows.

Firefighters used three hose lines from the exterior of the two-story building to knock down the main body of fire. A nearby resident was stunned to see the blaze, noting that Hatfields has “been in the neighborhood forever.”
The fire was brought under control at 10:15 a.m. and there were no injuries. No immediate cause was given. The FDNY’s Fire Marshals Office will determine the cause and origin over the blaze.
