An alleged birdbrain had the worst birthday of his life in the East Village Wednesday.
Police arrested a man who was spotted allegedly catching pigeons with a net inside Tompkins Square Park on the morning of April 30.
According to police sources, officers from the 9th Precinct received a report of a man using a large black net to catch pigeons at around 6:55 a.m. off the corner of Avenue A and East 8th Street.
When they arrived, police reported, they spotted 67-year-old Dwayne Daley of Bushkill, PA, with a net arguing with another park goer. Officers immediately took him into custody on what happened to be the suspect’s birthday.

Cops discovered a truck nearby with Pennsylvania plates and inside found some 25 pigeons within small cages, along with more nets.
This comes after animal rights activists have been sounding the alarm, alleging that New York has received an influx of people catching pigeons to sell them for use in target practice out of state.
Dwayne was charged with a slew of animal cruelty charges under the state’s Agricultural Markets Law. Police sources said he has an arrest record in New York dating back to 1982.
Police are asking the public to immediately dial 911 if they suspect anyone of pigeon catching in the Big Apple, adding that this arrest was possible thanks to the cooperation of New Yorkers.
