CitiBike stolen

Police say a 16-year-old male stole a CitiBike from a docking stand at Pearl St. and Maiden Lane in FiDi at 2 p.m. on Thurs., Aug. 28. A Sixth Precinct officer observed the suspect riding the blue bike on W. 14 St. and arrested the teen after conferring with a CitiBike representative, who said the $1,200 bike was stolen.

The officer then found a small amount of marijuana. Police did not say why the teen was originally stopped.


Car break-in

Damaging the driver’s side lock, a thief entered a beige Ford Taurus wagon and got away with over $3,300 worth of camera equipment last weekend.

The owner told police that he last saw the equipment at 10 a.m. on Sat., Aug. 30. When the 20-year-old Yonkers resident returned to his car parked on Maiden Lane between Pearl and Water Sts. around noon that day, he discovered his car had been broken into.


Tribeca purse grab

While sitting on a bench near Watts St.in Hudson River Park, a 50-year-old Brooklyn woman lost her purse with about $1,000 worth of property when two people came up behind her and grabbed it from her hand at 8:10 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 27, police said.

Inside the leather handbag was her wallet, iPad, Samsung Galaxy phone, gloves, cosmetics, monthly MetroCard and $70 in cash. Her debit cards were cancelled in time and there were no unauthorized charges.


Camera crime filmed

A 33-year-old Italian tourist was sitting at an outside table at Broome and Greene St. in Soho at 6 p.m. on Mon., Aug. 25 when he placed his camera and its accouterments on a ledge next to him.

The tourist took cell phone footage of suspect snatching the equipment, worth over $1,500, but police have not been able to locate the suspect, who is about 30 years old, according to police.


Black bike swiped

While in the lobby of a Tribeca building, a 29-year-old Queens man saw a man stealing his black electric bike, worth $1,420, and ride it away. The bike was neither chained or locked up in front of the Citibank headquarters at 388 Greenwich St. at 2:40 p.m. on Thurs., Aug. 28.

Police canvassed the area but it yielded no result.
