An 18-year-old man was fatally shot in the head outside a deli in the Bronx on Wednesday evening, police said.
Officers from the 52nd Precinct responded to a 911 call about a shooting in front of Yummy Deli, located at 266 E. Gun Hill Road in the Norwood section, shortly before 6 p.m. on May 21, according to the NYPD.
When officers arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS rushed him to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police identified the victim Thursday morning as Estarling Peralta, of Concourse Village in the Bronx.
The investigation into his killing is ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far, cops said
According to police sources, a verbal dispute occurred between Peralta and the shooter before the incident. The nature of the argument remains unclear.
Peralta’s death marks the second homicide in the 52nd Precinct this year, according to NYPD data. The 52nd Precinct has recorded three shooting incidents so far in 2025 — a decrease of seven compared to the same period last year.
