Manhattan cops are investigating a shooting outside a Lower East Side pizzeria on Sunday afternoon that left a man wounded.
Blood was left smeared inside and outside of 99 Cent Pizza located at 156 Delancey St., and spectators were left shocked, after gunfire erupted at 4:10 p.m. on June 1, cops said.
While the motive for the shooting is not yet clear, police report that a 28-year-old man was standing outside of the pizzeria when he was shot in the upper right thigh.
“I heard a scream and a gunshot. Just one gunshot,” a nearby store worker told amNewYork.
Authorities say the victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he is expected to survive.
“I saw him on the stretcher, he looked dazed — he looked young,” said a female eyewitness who did not want to be identified.
Officers from the 7th Precinct cordoned off the entire block and were seen standing over a bloody backpack and shell casing.
Both police and witnesses describe the gunmen as wearing all black and making a run for it on foot.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
