Wine and cheese tasting for Katrina

I.S. 89 is hosting its second annual wine and cheese tasting event next Tues., Sept. 27. The tasting will feature P.T.A. co-chair and cheese maven, Max McCalman, whose second book “The Cheese Plate” has just been published. A book signing and silent auction, of which the proceeds will be donated to relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina, will round out the evening. The event, open to the public, will be held in the Embassy Suites Atrium, 102 North End Avenue, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased in the lobby of I.S. 89, 201 Warren St.
