The NYPD released images Tuesday of a suspect wanted for brutally assaulting a man multiple times with his fists in Lower Manhattan earlier this month.
According to authorities, the attack occurred at approximately 7:37 p.m. on March 4 at New Street and Exchange Place in the Financial District. Police said the male suspect approached the 41-year-old victim, pummeling him in the face multiple times with a closed fist.
The brutal blitz caused the victim injuries including a broken nose and fractured eye socket, police sources said. The suspect fled on foot to parts unknown before officers from the 1st Precinct arrived.
Police said the assault did not appear to be provoked, and no weapons were recovered at the scene.
EMS brought the bloodied victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital in stable condition where he was treated for his injuries.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police describe the suspect as having a medium complexion and curly hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket.
