Coney Islands Wonder Wheel will become a spinning stage for poetry on Friday night.
A group of 14 poets plans to read their works to passengers of the 95-year-old landmark amusement as they are lifted around in their cars.
Poets expected to participate in the readings include Bronx-born Edwin Torres, National Book Critics Circle finalist Matthea Harvey, former carny Brenda Coulta and others.
For those who are afraid of heights, a special event called Poets Who Are Afraid of Heights will take place on a stage below the Wheel.
Those who are inspired can even write their own odes to Coney Island on vintage typewriters.
Poem-a-Rama is being organized by Coney Island-based Parachute Literary Arts.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $20 at the door. Funds raised by the event will go toward literary programs in Brooklyn, including writing workshops for teens.
