Actress Courteney Cox and Northern Irish rock musician Johnny McDaid reportedly have ended their nearly year-and-a-half engagement.
TMZ.com on Tuesday said “Friends” and “Cougar Town” star Cox, 51, and Snow Patrol guitarist McDaid, who is in his late 30s, broke up shortly before Thanksgiving. Neither has commented on social media.
Cox had announced their engagement on Twitter, posting a photo of the two on June 26, 2014, and writing, “I’m engaged to him!” The couple reportedly had been dating for six months. Us Weekly said Tuesday McDaid had proposed at the Los Angeles home of Cox’s friend and “Friends” cast-mate Jennifer Aniston, at a 10th-birthday party for Coco Arquette, Cox’s daughter with ex-husband David Arquette. The magazine said McDaid had asked Coco for permission to marry her mother.
Cox and McDaid were last photographed together at the Aug. 19 premiere of the Amazon streaming-video series “Hand of God” at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, and in undated photos of them vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, posted on Aug. 31.
Cox previously was married to actor Arquette, whom she met in 1996 on the set of their film “Scream.” They became engaged in September 1998 and wed on June 12, 1999. In October 2010, the two announced their amicable separation, and simultaneously filed for divorce in June 2012. It was finalized the following May.
