The Museum of the City of New York opens a new exhibit on April 1 dedicated to the early days of hip hop in New York City. At the core of the show are over 80 photographs from the 1970s to the 1990s documenting the b-boys, b-girls, DJs, MCs and other pioneers of the art form. KRS-One, Chuck D of Public Enemy and Eric B. and Rakeem are just some of the most recognizable faces in the images. Here’s a selection from the show that will close Sept. 2015.
