Cops are looking for the chemical-packing crook who sprayed a 59-year-old man while robbing him inside a Manhattan apartment building earlier this month.

The NYPD released on Feb. 23 video footage of the robbery, which occurred at 3:35 a.m. on Feb. 6 inside the location on West 184th Street between Broadway and Wadsworth Avenue in Hudson Heights.

According to law enforcement sources, the victim was heading to his apartment when the suspect approached. The thief then sprayed the victim with an unknown chemical — likely to be pepper spray or mace — and demanded money.

The suspect and victim then engaged in a physical struggle, during which the perpetrator managed to remove $5 in cash from the man. He then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Officers from the 34th Precinct and EMS responded to the incident. Paramedics treated the victim for irritation to his hands and face.

Additional video footage that police released Sunday shows the suspect heading down a stairwell. He’s shown wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). Tips may also be submitted online at nypdcrimestoppers.com, or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
