The blue flag of Boston was hoisted at half mast at City Hall beneath the flag of New York City on Tues., April 16 in commemoration of the victims of attack on the Boston Marathon that killed three, including a child, and injured more than 130 people on Monday. At a press conference Tuesday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg detailed the increased security around the city in response to the bombings. Despite increased tension, he stopped that afternoon on his way into City Hall to take a picture with a group of students from P.S. 187 in Washington Heights who had just finished their tour.
