Marvin Taylor, 24, has been charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. Last Friday, police said the 55-year-old victim was sitting on a bench on the southbound 6 train platform inside the Bleecker Street station when he noticed a man using a sharp object to cut open his pockets. Police said the victim resisted and was slashed in the face and hand. Taylor allegedly fled the scene with the victim’s money, according to police.
