A suspect has been arrested in the slashing of a man at a Bleecker Street subway station last week, police said.
Marvin Taylor, 24, has been charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Last Friday, police said the 55-year-old victim was sitting on a bench on the southbound 6 train platform inside the Bleecker Street station when he noticed a man using a sharp object to cut open his pockets.
Police said the victim resisted and was slashed in the face and hand.
Taylor allegedly fled the scene with the victim’s money, according to police.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center for treatment of his injuries, police said.
Taylor, who is homeless, was arrested on Sunday, police said.
