Police arrested a Bronx man Tuesday evening for allegedly killing his mother the night before.
On Monday, April 29, at approximately 10:33 p.m., officers from the 44th Precinct responded to a 911 call of a female in need of help at 760 Grand Concourse.
When they arrived, they found 79-year-old Francisca Trinidad unconscious and unresponsive inside her home. EMS were on site and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Trinidad’s son, 57-year-old Melvin Arias, who lives at the same address, was taken into custody at his home on Tuesday, April 30, at approximately 6:05 p.m. He is being charged with murder, manslaughter, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, law enforcement sources said.
Right now, it is unclear what led to killing, but the investigation remains ongoing.
