Another Bronx teenager was wounded in a stray bullet shooting early Wednesday morning, just days after a young woman was killed with a haphazard shot.

According to police sources, officers from the 49th Precinct rushed to Jacobi Hospital at around 2:28 a.m. on May 14 after learning that a 15-year-old boy had arrived at the medical center with a gunshot wound to the leg.

However, sources say that the teenager did not appear to be the intended target.

The boy told police that he had exited a store and was on 2244 Williamsbridge Road, across from St. Catharine Academy, alongside his mother when the shots rang out, and he was struck in the leg. He was taken to Jacobi Hospital via private means.

The exact circumstances surrounding why the gunfire erupted and who pulled the trigger remain unclear, police sources said.

No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.

This comes mere days after 16-year-old Evette Jeffrey lost her life to a stray bullet intended for another child on May 12.

Law enforcement sources said she was struck with the shot as a fight broke out among individuals in the schoolyard of Bronx Career and College Preparatory High School.

Police apprehended a 14-year-old boy the following day and charged him with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
