“The Washington Square Park Restoration: A Place Evaluation Workshop” will be sponsored by The Washington Square Park Council on Sat., Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New York University Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, Room 802. All are invited to join in the workshop to help shape a vision for the uses and activities that the community wants preserved in the park and to develop a common community vision for the future of the park.
According to the council: “The purpose of this workshop is to clarify community priorities and build consensus about the renovation of the park among our community’s disparate elements.”
Participants are asked to “bring an open mind and engage in a constructive process.” The council will review the results of observations and park surveys conducted over recent weeks and go out to the park to assess current activities and amenities.
The workshop will be run by Project for Public Spaces, Inc., specialists in public-space design and management.
