Downtown Dems
Pace University will host the “CNBC/Wall Street Journal Democratic Candidate Presidential Debate” this Thursday, Sept. 25. All ten Democratic candidates, including recent addition Gen. Wesley Clark, will attend the debate, which will be held in the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at One Pace Plaza.
Attendance is by invitation only, and half of the 650-seat auditorium will be reserved for Pace students. In addition, about 50 Pace students will participate behind the scenes as aides to the producers and politicians.
The two-hour debate will be broadcast live on CNBC from 4 p.m-6 p.m., and will focus on economic issues. NBC’s Brian Williams will moderate the event, and candidates will be questioned by panelists from CNBC and The Wall Street Journal.
Baby born
Maximilian Oliver Koster, son of Kate Koster and Dr. Harry Koster, was born Sept. 10, 2003. Baby Koster, who lives with his parents on the Hudson Square-Tribeca border, weighed in at 8 pounds, 7.2 ounces and measured19 1/2 inches.

Skywalker
The Skyscraper Museum has launched a Downtown New York Web Walk, with interactive walking tours of four Lower Manhattan neighborhoods.
The Web Walk on the museum’s Web site, www.skyscraper.org, uses a three-dimensional computer model of an aerial view of high-rise buildings in Lower Manhattan. Visitors can follow a neighborhood circuit or direct their own tour by clicking on the image of an individual building. Each building is illustrated in a series of images from the Museum’s collection. The downloaded version is also available for touring on foot.
The Skyscraper Museum, the first and only museum devoted to skyscrapers and skylines, expects to open in its first permanent home in December — at 39 Battery Park Pl. on the ground floor of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Battery Park City.
