The River Project’s annual Crab Crunch, a free tasting of Hudson River blue crabs, sponsored also by the Hudson River Foundation, will take place Sat. Aug. 6 on Pier 26 on the Tribeca waterfront at North Moore St.
Christopher Letts and Tom Lake, naturalists and researchers with the Hudson River Foundation, will give demonstrations on how to steam blue crabs and on the technique of cracking and eating them. Free steamed crabs will be served from 3-6 p.m. and a cash bar and side dishes will also be available. Boat rides on the decommissioned police launch, Big G, will also be free.
