Flooding traffic on Canal

On Wednesday night, amid flood warnings, angry commuters sat in their cars on Canal St., waiting for their turn to enter the Holland Tunnel. Due to a flood on the New Jersey side, police had restricted the number of cars entering the tunnel.

Listening to honking horns, Angela Avey had been sitting in her car for two and a half hours since leaving her teaching job at 125th St. when she said: “I have three kids I have to pick up and I keep calling my babysitter to say I’m going to be late. I’m very, very pissed.”
