A 23-year-old Hamilton Heights man was booked on murder charges for allegedly stabbing his uncle to death inside the apartment building where they lived on Friday, police reported.

Nehemiah Terry-Peterson, 23, was booked Friday afternoon on murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges for the killing of Simon Beverly, 74, earlier that morning.

Law enforcement sources said Beverly was found dead inside his residence at 560 West 151st St. at about 5:59 a.m. on Jan. 19.

During the investigation, Terry-Peterson was taken into custody by police as a person of interest, and later charged following questioning.

Based on a preliminary investigation, sources familiar with the case said, Terry-Peterson allegedly became embroiled in a dispute with Beverly for reasons that were not provided. The argument then eventually turned physical when Terry-Peterson attacked Beverly with a knife.

Police recovered the weapon at the scene, sources noted.

Terry-Peterson was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday morning in New York County Criminal Court, according to court records.
