“Hudson Square Music & Wine Festival” is in its third season, bringing another summer series of free concerts to the courtyard behind City Winery in Hudson Square. Every Tuesday night through Aug. 16, the winery invites family and friends for an evening of great tunes and fine wine. Tickets are not required.
On July 12, guitar virtuoso Vernon Reid (of Living Colour), famous for his lightning-fast solos, will play funk music. The following Tuesday, July 19, the Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra will rearrange favorite indie rock tunes for a traditional 11-piece Latin band and offer free salsa lessons prior to the performance.
Shows run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at 155 Varick St. (between Vandam and Spring Sts.). Call 212-608-0555 for more info. For the weekly schedule, visit citywinery.com.
