Tamiment Library at New York University will celebrate the donation of personal papers, photographs and unpublished writings of Wing Fong Chin and the late Tung Pok Chin with an April 14 book talk by their daughter, Winifred C. Chin, co-author of “Paper Son: One Man’s Story,” a memoir of the experience of the Chinese people who immigrated to the U.S. with false documents during the period of immigration quotas from 1882-1943. Chin’s father was a poet and laundryman, her mother, a garment worker and organizer who became an ILGWU executive.
