Koch doesn’t feel our pain

To The Editor:
Re “Police acted superbly, but not all protesters did” (talking point, by Ed Koch, Nov. 24):

Ed Koch’s sensitivity to pain does not seem to extend to ordinary people living in this city who are suffering economic pain.

People who are bending under the yoke of a city sales tax of almost 9 percent — including many items in supermarkets, grocery stores, etc. that should not be taxed.

People who are struggling to pay price-gouging rents to real estate interests; struggling to pay for food, medicines, transportation and so on.

When mayor, Mr. Koch pandered to real estate interests. He made no effort to protect residential or commercial renters.

He is a hypocrite.

Please stop giving him print space to promote his hypocrisy.
