Making all the right moves

The renovation of Washington Square Park several years ago cramped the style of chess players there, leading to a new chess scene quickly developing in Union Square’s southern plaza. Saravuth Inn has earned a living playing chess in Union Square since 2008. He says his earnings are inconsistent, but enough to allow him to rent a $15-a-day room in Brooklyn.
