Manhattan Youth Players take the stage

Due to city funding cuts, this may be the last opportunity to see the Manhattan Youth Players perform. On Thurs., June 9th and Fri., June 10th, the award-winning teen theater troupe will perform William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Although the renowned play which focuses on love, loss, mystery and humor, is exhaustively performed throughout the world, Manhattan Youth Players are bound to put some spice in this version of the play, according to Program Director Theseus Roche.

Adapted and directed by Constance Tarbox and Lance Windish and assistant directed by Matthew Grant, the theater troupe, Roche said, will guide the audience through bouts of excitement and laughter and deliver unforgettable performances.

The shows will take place both nights at 7 p.m. at I.S. 289’s theater, on the 2nd floor of 201 Warren Street. The suggested donation is $10.
