Dunkin’ door print
A fingerprint left on the front door of a Dunkin’ Donuts shop at 175 Varick St. in Hudson Square during an April 24 robbery led to the arrest on July 4 of Tyheim Walker, 21, police said. Walker is charged with holding a kitchen knife to an employee of the shop near Charlton St. and walking out with an unspecified amount of cash. Police say they lifted a fingerprint on the door that matched Walker’s and located the suspect 12 weeks later. Bail was set at $15,000 cash and $30,000 bond pending an Aug. 7 court appearance, according to a spokesperson for District Attorney Robert Morgenthau.
Messed with Texas Jag
A patron of Grand Daisy Bakery on Sullivan St. between Broome and Spring Sts. looked out the window around 10 a.m. Sat., July 12, and saw a man across the street slashing the convertible roof of a Jaguar with Texas license plates parked across the street. The customer alerted an employee, who phoned police. The suspect, Kareem Trowell, 35, of New Jersey, was arrested on Dominick St. a block from the scene. Police left a note on the car advising the owner to contact police at the First Precinct.
Low-sticking
Lance Ashford, 41, of Newark, N.J., was arrested Mon., July 7, on Broadway at 17th St. across from the north end of Union Square Park and charged with assault for hitting a woman pedestrian on the shin with a bamboo stick that he was swinging wildly at 1:30 p.m. Ashford’s bail was set at $2,000 cash $3,000 bond pending an Aug. 8 court appearance, according to the office of District Attorney Morgenthau.
Where’s my wallet?
A woman patron of Strawberry’s, 38 E. 14th St., told police that two women followed her into the store at 8:45 p.m. Tues., July 1, and bumped into her bag. A half hour later when the victim, 45, went to pay for an item, she discovered that her wallet was gone.
Big Disappointment
A woman shopping at Big D, 22 W. 14th St., told police the she forgot her wallet on the counter when paying for purchases at 5 p.m. Sat., July 5, and went back five minutes later but it was gone. Store employees told her they did not see her wallet, police said.
Bag drag
An employee at CEX, the telecommunications store at 657 Broadway across from Bond St., told police that he left his bag at his desk on the second floor at 7 p.m. Tues., July 1, and returned 15 minutes later to find it had been stolen.
Locker shocker
A patron of New York Sports Club on the second floor of 34 W. 14th St. told police he locked his locker before going for his workout at 1:30 p.m. Mon., July 7, and came back at 4 p.m. to find the locker door had been pulled off its hinges and his clothes and other property was gone.
Bags stolen
A woman who left her bag on the back of her chair at Stonewall Inn, 53 Christopher St., at 12:55 a.m. Sat., July 5, discovered it was stolen five minutes later.
A woman patron of Fiddlesticks, 56 Greenwich Ave., told police that her wallet had been stolen from her shoulder bag sometime between 11 p.m. Sat., July 5, and 1 a.m. the next morning when she left the bar.
A woman who hung her bag on the door of a bathroom stall at a diner on Varick and W. Houston St. at 1 p.m. Thurs., July 3, discovered it had been taken when she come out.
A woman patron of Lenny’s, the diner at 418 Sixth Ave., discovered her wallet was gone after she left the place at 7:15 p.m. Sat., July 5, and went back but did not find it. There were unauthorized withdrawals totaling $1,000 on four of her back cards, police said.
