A pregnant woman was struck and injured by a delivery in Downtown Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon.

The woman, whom police did not immediately identify, was knocked to the ground as she crossed Court Street at Remsen Street at about 2 p.m.

A traffic agent ran to her aid until firefighters and an ambulance could arrive on the scene. She was taken to Brooklyn Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jessica Grossman, an EMT, was walking with her baby when she saw the woman get struck. She also ran over to help.

“She was crossing and she had the light and he hit her in the crosswalk,” Grossman told amNewYork. “I ran to her and I know for a fact this light was red.”

Steve Quester of Flatbush said he saw her get hit.

“I saw the van hit her, and saw her go down,” he said. “It was making a turn from Remsen Street and hit her in the crosswalk. I saw the moment she went down. You go about your day and the next thing you know – this happens.”

No charges had yet been filed against the driver, a deliveryman from New Jersey. The incident is still under investigation, police said.
