To the editor:
I want a reduction in taxes!
Nobody asked the residents of Soho if we wanted a Business Improvement District…a B.I.D. is being imposed on the Soho community.
I for one want a reduction in taxes. Why should I be taxed twice: once by the B.I.D. and twice by the Department of Sanitation?

As for the police, the First Precinct once had the lowest crime rate in the city… that has changed. However the police are out giving tickets for riding in the Bus Lane rather than paying attention to the very little increase in coverage.
Why can’t the city manage to do the work assigned to it, i.e. collection of garbage?
At one time we had what was called “White Wings” men with wheelbarrows. They would sweep and collect small stuff on the streets. Now we have a speed sweep that picks up very little in a rush and is gone.
If the police can’t cover the Soho area sufficiently and we need a secondary protection force, I want a reduction in taxes!
