ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING IS SUSPENDED THURSDAY AND FRIDAY FOR ROSH HASHANAH
All Manhattan-bound lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge will close 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday, as well as 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Monday, and Tuesday nights. That means more traffic at the inbound Battery Tunnel and Manhattan Bridge, and on West and Delancey Sts.
Wednesday’s rush hour will begin earlier than usual because of Rosh Hashanah; the holiday also means traffic volumes will be lighter on Thursday.
New York’s first regular-season N.F.L. game of the year will be held at MetLife Stadium 1 p.m. Sunday with the Jets facing off against the Bucs. This will send more traffic to the Holland Tunnel as drivers avoid the Lincoln.
Saturday morning, cyclists in the NYC Century Bike Tour will ride through Lower Manhattan, hitting Greenwich Village, Soho, and heading down to the Brooklyn Bridge. Expect a major influx of bike traffic.
The Sixth Avenue Festival will close Sixth Ave. between Houston St. and Waverly Pl. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Fulton Street Follies will close Fulton St. between Water and William Sts. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Around Washington Square Park, the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit will close sidewalks along University Pl. between E 12th and W 3rd Sts. as well as along Washington Pl. between University Pl. and Mercer St. 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
An event called Conversations for a Green Agenda for NYC will fully close Cortlandt Alley between Walker and White Sts. 12 p.m. noon to 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Chambers St. will fully close between West Broadway and Greenwich St. 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday and Friday nights. Also, a weekend closure will affect Chambers St. between Church and Greenwich Sts. 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
Cedar St. will close between Pearl and William Sts. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
As of Tues., Sept. 3, Franklin St. will fully close between Hudson and Varick Sts. until Tues., Oct. 1.
John St. will close between Broadway and Nassau St. 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Liberty St.
Set-up for the 86th Annual Feast of San Gennaro will begin Monday on Mulberry St. between Canal and E Houston Sts., and on Grand and Hester Sts. between Mott and Centre Sts. The festival will run Thursday, September 12 through Sunday, September 22.

New York City mapmaker John Tauranac has recently released a new version of his subway map which shows lines not yet completed, like the 7 extension and the Second Avenue Subway. In Lower Manhattan, the map can be purchased at the NYU Bookstore at Broadway and Washington Pl. and the Lower East Side Tenement Museum on Orchard St.
