Vincent J. Tatick, a resident of the West Village and a fish wholesaler in the Fulton Fish Market, died suddenly Mon. Oct. 31 at the age of 65.
He had a heart attack while at the family summer home in East Stroudsburg, Penn., said his wife, Joi.
A second-generation Fulton Market wholesaler, he was born in Manhattan and grew up in Brooklyn, the son of Frances and Frank Tatick, the owner of a Fulton Market company that bore his name. Vincent worked for his father in the market part time while going to high school in Far Rockaway and joined the Marine Corps after graduation, serving for three years.
After his service in the Marines, he returned to the fish business and, after his father died, joined Joseph H. Carter, Inc., another Fulton Market wholesale firm. Vincent Tatick was president of the Carter company when he died and had served as president of the Fulton Fish Market Cooperative.
He was married at Our Lady of Pompei Church on Carmine St. in 1980 and the family lived on Hudson St. in the West Village. In addition to his wife, their daughter, Kara, a student at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, survives.
Viewing was at Perazzo Funeral Home, 199 Bleecker St., on Nov. 3 and 4. A funeral Mass took place Sat. Nov. 5 at Our Lady of Pompei and burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Queens.
