Transit detectives in the Bronx need the public’s help in finding the brute who assaulted a senior subway rider earlier this year.
The NYPD released late on Monday night an image of the suspect wanted for the assault, which occurred at 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 21 at the 231st Street station on the elevated 1 line in Kingsbridge.
Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator approached the victim, a 63-year-old woman, as she exited a Riverdale-bound 1 train that arrived seconds earlier. According to police, he pushed the woman onto the platform, then fled the location on the 1 train as it departed the stop moments later.
The incident was reported to the 50th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 3. EMS treated the victim at the scene for multiple injuries to her face, wrist and ribs.
As shown in the image provided, the suspect wore glasses and a black hooded jacket.
