Mystery surrounds death of man found on a bench in a Bronx park

Police are investigating the death of a man who was found unconscious on a park bench in the Bronx on Friday morning.

According to police, at 6:49 a.m. on Feb. 28, the NYPD responded to a call regarding an unconscious man in Keltch Park near Jerome Avenue and Macombs Road. Upon their arrival, officers found at 66-year-old man sitting at a bench in the park, unconscious and unresponsive, with no apparent signs of trauma.

EMS responded to the location and declared the man dead at the scene. His identification is being withheld pending family notification.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
