‘Escape the City’ trend plus low interest rates equals boom of Poconos’ Classic Homes

Millburn model to Schnepps papers
Shown here is the Millburn – a magnificent home that features a charming covered front porch and includes 4-bedrooms, a large master suite with walk-in closet; 2 ½ bath; kitchen with work island and breakfast nook; family room with fireplace, and a formal dining room.
Classic Quality Homes, currently the Poconos’ most popular home builder, is reporting a sales increase of its new homes, says company president, David Wengerd.

He attributes this to people looking to flee the city as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as well as historic low interest rates. “This has caused an unprecedented boom in Classic Home sales, ” says Wengerd.

Of course, the company’s outstanding reputation has always been – and continues to be – a huge contributing factor. “Our company has prospered over the years because of our record of performance, and the completeness of our home packages,” he says. “Our prices include everything – permits, driveways, wells, site costs and other items,” he says.

The locations of these homes provide ideal convenience for today’s New York metropolitan area family.  “We offer an array of quality schools, shopping at over 100 outlet stores, plus recreational facilities such as swimming, fishing, skiing, and top resorts with casino gambling and much more,” he says. “As we like to say, the Poconos is New York’s newest suburb. We’re located just 90 minutes from the city, and commuter buses are nearby.”

In addition, due to several recent acquisitions, Classic has the widest array of lots and locations in the area.  “We’re happy to say that we can now provide a really varied selection of choices to our new homeowners,” says Wengerd. “Whether the preference is for a closeby, commuter-friendly location or a remote hideaway, Classic has it.”

Among Classic’s attractive offerings is the Millburn that includes 4 bedrooms; a large Master Suite with walk-in closet; 2 ½ baths; kitchen with island and breakfast nook; family room with fireplace; and a formal dining room.

A wide array of other models are available, with prices starting at $289,000.
