The New York Jets may be entering their first competitive December in years, but that doesn’t mean they are without locker room concerns. James Robinson is just the latest player to voice his displeasure on playtime.

Weeks after wide receiver Elijah Moore requested a trade due to a lack of targets, and the benching of a top-five pick, recently acquired running back James Robinson spoke out about being a recently inactive in the Jets’ latest win.

“Obviously, I was upset about it,” he told ESPN. “I don’t know what they have planned for me.”

In late October the Jets acquired the power back in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a conditional draft pick. The undrafted free agent out of Illinois State in 2020, finished No. 6 in the NFL with 1,070 rushing yards. In 2021, Robinson tallied 767 yards and 8 TDs before an Achilles injury indeed his season.

When Doug Pederson took over in Jacksonville, it appeared Robinson’s time would soon be over with the new regime looking for a more modern offense. In three games, the Jets running back has just 75 yards on 25 carries for a disappointing three yards a carry.

“Obviously, I didn’t come here not to play,” Robinson added. “Obviously, they brought me here for a reason. I don’t expect anything unless I work for it, and I’ve been working my ass off. Me not playing pisses me off.”

The Jets promoted undrafted rookie Zonovan Knight from the practice squad last week in their 31-10 win over Chicago while Ty Johnson and Michael Carter were the other running backs on the active roster.

With Carter’s injury leaving him questionable for Sunday against Minnesota, the opportunity could come up for Robinson to be back on the field.

New York meanwhile, has taken a passive approach to the latest comments with Robert Saleh saying that “no one has seen the last of” Robinson.

The Jets (7-4) will be back in action Sunday when they travel to Minnesota to battle the 8-2 Vikings with key playoff implications on the horizon.
