The New York Red Bulls and Cameron Harper have agreed to a new three-year MLS contract that will run through the 2027 season with an option for the 2028 campaign.

“We are excited to sign Cam to a long-term contract to keep him with the club,” Red Bulls head of sport Jochen Schneider said. “Cam has proven to be a great professional on and off the field and we are excited to have him with us.”

The 22-year-old has spent the past four seasons with New York, making 59 MLS appearances while recording four goals and four assists.

Having spent two seasons with Scottish powerhouses, Celtic, Harper was transferred to the Red Bulls in 2021, less than two months after making his senior debut with the European club.

His versatility has carved out a sustainable niche within New York’s ranks. An original attacking midfielder, he has also played as a wing-back for the Red Bulls to add an extra dimension to the backline when needed.

“I had to redefine myself in terms of the way I broke into the team last year,” Harper told amNewYork last season. “The first place was at wingback. I had never played wingback. When I looked at my attributes and I see my strengths, they fit really well toward being versatile and being able to play multiple positions because of my pace. I think I’m quite coachable and I try to take on as much information as I possibly can.”

With a more defined role, the Roseville, CA native set career-highs last season with 31 games played, 24 starts, 2,150 minutes played, and 32 shots.
