Man wanted for deadly mass shooting in Brooklyn last year, police say

Authorities have released the identity of a suspect they say allegedly played a major role in a Brooklyn mass shooting that left three men dead and nine injured in Brooklyn over the summer.

According to police sources, 34-year-old Halie Cummings is wanted for questioning for the fatal Aug. 17 shooting that rocked the city. Cops from the 71st Precinct said they rushed to 903 Franklin Avenue at around at just before 3:30 a.m. after a report of an assault in progress inside a restaurant.

Officers arrived within minutes of the first 911 calls and found numerous gunshot victims inside of the location,” Police Commissioner Jeasica Tisch said later that day, stating that victims ranged in age from teen to seniors. “It’s a terrible thing,” she added

Upon arrival, officers discovered three mortally wounded men with gunshot wounds. 27-year-old Amadou Diallo suffered a bullet wound to the head and was pronounced dead on scene. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Marvin St. Louis and 35-year-old Jamel Childs both suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout their bodies. They were rushed to Kings Country Hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

Police recovered at least 42 shell casings from multiple guns at the scene. Tisch stated that the Chaos stemmed from gang violence.

According to law enforcement sources, 25-year-old Roy Elijah was arrested in connection with the shooting on Sept. 30 and charged with Murder while  Timothy Spence was cuffed last month on Jan. 27 and charged with attempted murder. If found, Cummings would mark the third man brought to justice.
