‘Hamilton’s’ Anthony Ramos leaving dual roles; ‘Grease: Live’ star Jordan Fisher takes spot

Anthony Ramos, who played the dual roles of Alexander Hamilton’s son, Philip Hamilton, and anti-slavery South Carolina statesman John Laurens in the acclaimed Broadway musical “Hamilton,” is leaving the hit show.

BroadwayWorld.com reported Wednesday that the Brooklyn-born Ramos, 24, will give his final performance on Sunday, Nov. 20, in order to play a lead role in filmmaker Spike Lee’s previously announced Netflix series “She’s Gotta Have It.”

Singer-actor Jordan Fisher, who played Doody in Fox’s “Grease: Live,” takes over the two roles on Nov. 22.

In late September, Ramos was cast in “She’s Gotta Have It” as Mars Blackmon, the role originated by Lee in his 1986 film on which the Netflix series is based.
