Entertainment Lindsay Lohan 2020: Why LiLo should launch her political career in NYC By MELISSA KRAVITZ Updated October 19, 2015 2:40 PM Print Share fbShare Tweet Email Lindsay Lohan is running for president! Or so she claims via a series of erratic and humorous social media posts over the past few days. With claims such as "The first thing I would like to do as president of [American flag emoji] is take care of all of the children suffering in the world," we'd love to see Lohan launch her political career in the Big Apple. Here's why. 1. She's already helped the kids of Brooklyn! Photo Credit: TWITTER / MelissaRusso4NY The past May, Lohan completed her court-mandated community service at a Fort Greene childcare center. "So happy to be finally helping out all the kids at @WeAreBCS - I just hope that I can make a difference to their lives," she tweeted on May 13. Giving back already! 2. She's expressed interest in acting on Broadway. Photo Credit: TWITTER / lindsaylohan And what better way to break into politics than the cutthroat New York theater scene? In December 2014, she tweeted that she'd like to act in a Broadway version of David Mamet's "Oleanna." Julia Stiles formerly played the female lead on Broadway in 2009. Lohan is so ready for her NYC standing ovation. 3. She's hosted SNL twice! Photo Credit: NBC Studios And what is politics if not comedy? Lohan hosted Saturday Night Live in 2004 and 2012. And a reminder that presidential candidate Donald Trump will host the iconic variety show on November 7. 4. She's a true Independent. For the 2012 presidential election, she originally endorsed Mitt Romney, but only weeks later publicly showed her support for Barack Obama. What a free spirit! She already walks the New York walk. Photo Credit: Rob Kim/Getty Images All black? Check. Posed for the paparazzi? Check. She's ready to be a New Yorker and an NYC politician, obviously. 7. She can stock up on Kalteen bars at Dylan's Candy Bar. Photo Credit: Dylan's Candy Bar What better campaign giveaway than a tasty ode to Cady Heron in "Mean Girls"? She doesn't even go here, for now, but soon Lohan will make NYC so fetch. She can't help it that she's so popular.
