More than a dozen restaurants across New York City are offering special discounts to active military members, veterans, and their families this Memorial Day weekend as part of a citywide effort to honor those who served.

Mayor Eric Adams announced Thursday a new slate of partnerships with restaurants throughout the five boroughs, offering reduced prices to coincide with Memorial Day weekend, Fleet Week, and Military Appreciation Month.

“These brave men and women have given so much for their country and for this city, and it’s our duty, especially as a city that was attacked by foreign enemies on 9/11, to support those who served,” Adams said in a statement. “We’re investing in housing and employment opportunities for our veterans, and with today’s announcement, we’re ensuring veterans and service members can experience the full range of what New York City has to offer.”

From Saturday, May 24, through Monday, May 26, participating restaurants will offer discounts of 20% to 25% off food purchases to anyone with a valid military ID.

Among the restaurants offering deals in Manhattan are Amélie’s West Village and Upper West Side locations (20%); David Burke Tavern on the Upper East Side (25%); The Wolfe on the Upper West Side (25%); The Long Room, The Independent and Pasta Lovers in the Theater District (25%); Gaia in Herald Square (25%); Maggie’s Place; Park Ave Kitchen by David Burke (25%); Nomad Diner in Midtown (20%); and Pete’s Tavern in Gramercy (25%). All Stout NYC locations in Manhattan will also offer 25% off.

In Brooklyn, The Dram Shop Bar in Park Slope is offering 20% off, while Sungold in Williamsburg is offering the same discount. In the Bronx, Mae Mae Cafe & Plant Shop in Mott Haven is offering 20% off. Two Queens restaurants — Rivercrest in Astoria and Neir’s Tavern in Woodhaven — will also offer 20% off.

On Staten Island, active military members and veterans can head to Lorenzo’s Restaurant in Bloomfield for a 20% discount.

The Memorial Day weekend deals build on ongoing efforts to highlight veteran services and make New York’s diverse cultural and culinary landscape more accessible to the military community. Earlier this week, Mayor Adams and Department of Veterans’ Services Commissioner James Hendon unveiled a sweeping set of initiatives to secure housing stability and expand job opportunities for New York City’s 210,000 veterans.

The four-pronged plan includes legislative advocacy, homeownership assistance, improved access to affordable housing, and targeted employment support
