Cops in Brooklyn are searching for a gunman who shot a teen in the back on Saturday night as he rode his kick scooter on the sidewalk.
According to police sources, officers from the 83rd Precinct received a 911 call reporting an assault in progress along Broadway and Furman Avenue in Bushwick at approximately 7:19 p.m. on June 21.
Upon arriving at the scene, cops discovered the victim, a 15-year-old boy, who suffered a gunshot wound to the back.
The boy was rushed to Maimonides Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
The victim’s bright blue scooter was spotted on the sidewalk between police tape as law enforcement investigating the shooting discovered several shell casings.
While cops say they have yet to pin down a motive for gun violence, sources familiar with the incident reported that the boy was believed to be the intended target.
Police say they are looking for a gunman dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt who was last seen fleeing northbound on Granite Street.
No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police reported Sunday.
