Detectives are investigating after a man was found dead inside a broken-down ambulance in Brooklyn on Saturday morning.
According to police sources, the grim discovery was made outside of 197 Snediker Ave. in an industrial section of East New York at around 7:46 a.m. on June 7.
Cops say a 60-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive inside an abandoned ambulance. Officers from the 75th Precinct responded to the scene.
Sources familiar with the investigation tell amNewYork that the man was discovered sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle with suspicious neck trauma, leading authorities to believe he may have been murdered.
EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.
Though the death appears to be under suspicious circumstances, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of the man’s demise.
The investigation remains ongoing, police reported.
