Detectives are searching for clues and suspects in a triple shooting on an East Harlem block early Wednesday morning that left one man dead and two others injured.

Sources familiar with the investigation said the injured victims are currently hospitalized in stable condition, but are refusing to cooperate with police in providing details about the circumstances leading up to the gunfire.

Police said the shooting happened at about 1:13 a.m. on Sept. 15 in the vicinity of the 1775 Houses at 107 East 126th St.

Officers from the 25th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about a man shot, found a 37-year-old man with a bullet wound to his torso. EMS rushed him to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later; police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.

During the preliminary investigation, police learned that the two additional shooting victims connected to the incident had been brought via private means to Harlem and Lenox Hill Hospitals.

Authorities said a 34-year-old man at Harlem Hospital suffered a gunshot wound to his hip, while the second victim, also a 34-year-old man, was brought to Lenox Hill Hospital with a bullet wound to his left leg; he was later transferred to Cornell Medical Center.

Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries, but police sources said neither of them are cooperating with detectives investigating the shooting.

As a result, police have no information yet on a possible motive, or a description of the shooter. No arrests have been made in the case.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). You can also submit tips online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
