Bronx detectives are searching for a suspect who shot a man during an apparent dispute outside a tire shop last week, police said.
The shooting occurred around 9:02 p.m. on April 19 in front of 2424 East Tremont Ave. in Westchester Square, according to the NYPD.
Officers from the 45th Precinct responded and found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. EMS rushed the wounded man to Jacobi Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released on Sunday night images of the alleged perpetrator connected to the shooting, saying the suspect shot the victim in the leg and before fleeing the scene on foot.
According to law enforcement sources, the shooting followed a verbal dispute between the suspect and the victim, though the circumstances surrounding the argument were not immediately clear.
The April 19 shooting marked the fourth gun violence incident reported this year within the 45th Precinct, according to the NYPD’s latest CompStat data. At the same point last year, the precinct had recorded one shooting.
As shown in the image the police released, the alleged suspect is around 5 feet, 6 inches tall and was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, black pants, and white sneakers.
